Welcome to our Sure Start Children’s Centre
We understand how important support can be just when you need it. We provide services from the antenatal stage to when your child starts school and offer a range of activities from Child Health Clinics, Breastfeeding Support, Baby Massage, Baby Group and Stay and Play.

Our team is based in our main Children’s Centre in Bowthorpe. We have a further two smaller centres based on the Costessey and West Earlham Infant school sites.
Our diverse team of support workers and therapists have the skills and expertise to provide a wide range of services to families in homes and the community.
We have links with Adult Education providers who run a range of courses at the Bowthorpe centre to help you improve your skills. Courses include Literacy and Numeracy, Looking Good, Feeling Great, ESOL (if English is your second or other language) and Family Learning.
The Centre encourages and supports parents to get involved through our Parents Forum. This is key to the success of the Centre, ensuring that we provide the activities and support which meet the needs of our local families. Parents meet to express views and ideas, and hold regular fundraising events to raise money for additional equipment for the Centre. We have a number of volunteers who help at our Centres. Safety of your children is of course of utmost consideration so all volunteers are subject to safe recruiting procedures and have completed a training programme.

Our team of outreach workers can support you if you are having difficulties with your relationship with your child, or we can offer more practical support with benefits, financial difficulties, employment or housing.
If we are unable to help than we can support you to make contact with another organisation.
We also have links with local childminders and early years settings and can help parents and families seek the childcare they require.
