Get involved
NCH&C is an important part of daily life for many people right across the county and that is why we want our Trust to have patients at the heart of every decision we make and encourage you to take the opportunity to get involved in the work of our Trust.
In this Get involved section you can find out about the benfits of becoming a Member of our Trust. Becoming a Member will give you the chance to get involved in shaping how we do things and give you the opportunity to have your say.You may also want to get directly involved with our services by becoming a volunteer. Every year we have local people wanting to support our services in a hands on way, performing a range of roles from making cups of tea for patients and carers to befriending people who have lost a loved one.
From time to time we will consult you about the development or redesign of our services so that you can have your say on the future of health and care in your area. We will also be running events throughout the year, from open days where you can meet our staff and see what they do, to health fairs where you can visit a wide range of services and take the opportunity to have your chlosterol levels checked or talk to our Smokefree team about quitting smoking.
If you don't have the time to volunteer, you may want to show your support or thanks to a particular service by donating money via our Charitable Funds Scheme. The generous support of local people through fund raising events and individaul donations meant that £251,000 was donated to the scheme last year, which helped to enhance patient care and provide patient amenities.
Volunteering

Volunteers provide enormous benefits to our Trust as they provide valuable support that complements the services we provide to our patients.
Charitable Funds

Many patients and relatives want to express their thanks to our staff for the excellent care they provide by making a donation. This support makes a real difference to the lives of our patients and staff.
Public Engagement

We will consult with you on major changes to our services and any formal consultation will be widely publicised. We also use our website as part of the consultation process.
