Children and Young People

We have great opportunities for volunteers to support children and their parents, and offer full and ongoing training for these roles. You will always be supported by the staff team, and all activities are supervised.

Sure Start Children's Centres and Nurseries

Volunteers at our Sure Start Children’s centres help welcome parents to the centre, and support our Stay and Play sessions. Our volunteers engage with both the children and the parents, and are a real asset, making sure the sessions are set up and tidied away promptly.

Squirrels centre

The Squirrels short break unit in Aylsham provides essential care for children aged between five and 18 years. We operate two, five bedded units that provide residential short breaks to children with complex health needs within a homely environment.

Squirrels centre volunteers provide valuable support to the team, by playing with the children and reading to them, and accompanying them on group outings at the weekend or during school holidays.
